Osaze, Olatian Are Eagles Stars Of The Week

 
--Yobo, Oduamadi, Lawal and Nsofor debut for respective teams
--Mikel, Omeruo benched; Moses, Oboabona missing
ENGLAND
Osaze Odemwingie (Stoke City): Super Eagles striker, Osaze Odemwingie scored his first goal for Stoke City in his third start for the Potters as they forced Southampton to a 2-2 draw at Saint Mary's Stadium on Saturday. The Nigerian scored Mark Hughes side's first away goal of 2014 in 369 minutes. The former West Brom and Cardiff star was however yellow carded in the 90th minute of the encounter.

John Mikel Obi (Chelsea); Shola Ameobi & Sammy Ameobi (Newcastle United): Nigerian international,John Obi Mikel was an unused substitute for Chelsea, his side stomped to the top of the Premier League

with a hat trick from Eden Hazard in a 3-0 defeat of Newcastle. The club handed Sammy Ameobi his eighth start at Stamford Bridge. The Super Eagles star, Mikel, has chalked up 18 EPL games and has scored once while Shola Ameobi who is yet to score in the EPL this season, was an unused substitute in the tie.

Joseph Yobo (Norwich City): Super Eagles skipper, Joseph Yobo made his debut for Norwich who battled to a goalless draw against Manchester City, on a frustrating Saturday afternoon at Carrow Road for Manuel Pellegrini's men.  Yobo's partnership with Sebastien Bassong did enough to keep at bay Manchester City's attack that included Negredo, Jovetic, Silva and Edin Dzeko. Norwich are 16th on the table with 25 points from 25 matches, two points above the relegation zone.

Victor Moses (Liverpool): Super Eagles winger Victor Moses was not listed as Liverpool blew away Arsenal and give their own title hopes a shot in the arm, with a 5-1 home win over the Gunners at Anfield on Saturday. Moses who has scored twice in the league has played 13 times for Brendan Rodgers team. It would be recalled that the last time Liverpool put five past Arsenal, they won the league. Can Rodgers' men go all the way again?

Victor Anichebe (West Brom): Nigerian striker, Victor Anichebe was caged for 90 minutes in his 15th EPL game as West Brom were put to the sword by Crystal Palace in a 3-1 loss at Selhurst Park. It was the

Baggies 10th defeat of the season, they end the weekend in the bottom three. The former Everton star has scored twice.

Sone Aluko (Hull City): Super Eagles fringe winger, Sone Aluko returned to action as a second half substitute on Saturday in Hull City's 2-0 win over Sunderland at the Stadium of Light. The former Rangers and Birmingham star who missed his side's last 13 games,  has played nine EPL games,  with his only goal of this season coming against Newcastle United.

Kenneth Omeruo (Middlesbrough);Dickson Etuhu (Blackburn Rovers):Super Eagles defender, Kenneth Omeruo returned to the substitute's bench in Middlesbrough's goalless draw at home to Blackburn Rovers

who didn't feature Etuhu. The 20 year old Chelsea loanee has now been an unused substitute in three games for ‘Boro’.

Danny Shittu (Millwall): Forgotten Super Eagles defender, Dan Shittu was not paraded for Millwall who lost 3-1 to Burnley in the Sky Bet Championship at Turf Moor. The former Eagles defender has played 17 games, albeit scoring one goal.

Seyi Olofinjana (Sheffield Wednesday): Nigerian international Seyi Olofinjana was not listed for action as in-form Sheffield Wednesday extended their unbeaten run to 11 matches, with a comfortable 2-0

win against 10-man Reading at the Madejski Stadium. The former Cardiff midfielder has played seven games for his Championship side.

SCOTLAND
Efe Ambrose (Celtic): Super Eagles defender featured for Celtic from start to finish as his side suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Aberdeen for a second weekend running in the William Hill Scottish

Cup, courtesy of a 2-1 defeat.  The Nigerian international who has one goal to his credit has featured in all Celtic's SPL games this term.

ITALY
Nnamdi Oduamadi (Varese): Super Eagles winger Nnamdi Oduamadi made a stunning debut for Varese in Saturday's goalless draw at home to Latina. The AC Milan loanee made 18 appearances for Brescia and scored once in a Coppa Italia clash.

Ogenyi Onazi (Lazio): Super Eagles midfielder Ogenyi Onazi replaced Alvaro Gonzalez in the 79th minute as Lazio and Roma wasted golden opportunities in Sunday's Derby della. The Nigerian midfielder who horribly wasted a counter-attack from a Roma corner, his pass for Klose intercepted by Vasilis Torosidis when it was two-against-one has played 18 Serie A appearance for Lazio and he has two assist to his credit with no goal.

Obina Nsofor (Chievo Verona): Nigerian international Obina Nsofor was on the losing side on his debut for Udinese on Saturday. The Locomotiv Moscow replaced Simone Bentivoglio in the 62nd minute as his side lost 3-0 at the Communale Friuli stadium.

Joel Obi (Parma): Inter Milan loanee Joel Obi was not listed for action in Parma's goalless draw at home to Catania on Sunday. The 22 year old has played  four Serie A games.

GREECE
Michael Olaitan (Olympiakos): Former Flying Eagles midfielder,  Michael Olaitan came off the substitute's bench in the 58th minute to make an instant impact as his side Olympaikos trashed his former team

Viera, 5-0, at the Vieras stadium on Saturday. The 21 year old player first provided an assist for Damian Dominguez opener a minute later before grabbing his side's third in the 70th minute. Olaitan, then grabbed his brace in stoppage time for his seventh goal in the Greek league and ninth in all competitions.

Ayodele Adeleye (Ergotelis): Super Eagles defender, Ayodele Adeleye watched from the stands as his new team defeated Platanias by a lone goal at the Dimotiko Perivolion stadium.


PORTUGAL
Femi Balogun, Christian Obodo (Olhanense), Ibrahim Obayomi (Maritimo): Former Super Eagles midfielder Christian Obodo featured in his second game for Olhanense in their 1-1 home draw against Maritimo. His Nigerian counterpart Femi Balogun came off in the 87th minute for Senegalese Oumar Diakhite. Balogun has now played 17 times for the Portugese outfit, scoring just once. Once again, Ibrahim Obayomi was overlooked for Maritimo and has not tasted action this current campaign

TURKEY
Emmanuel Emenike (Fenerbache); John Utaka (Sivasspor): Injured Super Eagles striker Emmanuel Emenike was expectedly missing in his side's 2-0 loss to Sivasspor who paraded his compatriot John Utaka

for the last ten minutes on Sunday. The AFCON hero has scored eight goals in 17 League games while Utaka who replaced Aydin Karabulut has played 13 games and has scored twice.

Godfrey Oboabona (Rizespor): Super Eagles defender, Godfrey Oboabona was missing in action for Rizespor who forced Kayseri Erciyesspor to a 1-1 draw at Kadir Has Åžehir stadium. Oboabona has played ten Super Lig games albeit one goal for his 15th placed team.

Raheem Lawal (Eskişehirspor): Nigerian international, Raheem Lawal played for 76 minutes on his debut for Eskişehirspor as they slumped to a 3-0 defeat to Galatasaray at the Türk Telekom Arena on Saturday.

FRANCE
Vincent Enyeama (Lille): Eagles first choice goalkeeper, Vincent Enyeama kept his 15th clean sheet in 24 Ligue 1 appearances for Lille, who thumped Sochaux 2-0 at the Pierre-Mauroy stadium on Saturday. Enyeama  has conceded 14 goals this season.

Sunday Mba (CA Bastia): Super Eagles midfielder, Sunday Mba was yellow carded in the 71st minute in his side's 4-1 loss at home to Châteauroux. Mba who has scored once since joining last month, has played five games.

SPAIN
Nosa Igiebor (Real Betis): Super Eagles midfielder, Nosa Igiebor replaced Didac in the 66th minute as Valencia followed up their Nou Camp heroics by thrashing lowly Real Betis 5-0 at the Mestalla. The former Lillestrom and Hapoel Tel Aviv player has now played eight La Liga games  and  scored once.

Ikechukwu Uche (Villareal): In form Super Eagles striker, Ikechukwu Uche missed his side's 4-2 away defeat to Real Madrid on Saturday. Uche who is in the contention for CS' player of the month award,  has scored 12 goals in 19 appearances for the Yellow Submarines.

Ramon Azeez (Almeria): Former Flying Eagles midfielder Ramon Azeez played his 18th game of the La Liga season on Saturday as his side defeated Atletico Madrid 2-0. The 21 year old midfield player has scored once this season

Odion Ighalo (Granada): Former Nigerian youth international Odion Ighalo was not in action for Granada who lost by a lone goal to Espanyol on Sunday. Ighalo has scored one goal in eight games.

Macauley Chrisantus (Las Palmas); Former Flying Eagles striker Macauley Chrisantus was replaced at half time by Héctor Figueroa as his side drew goalless at home to Numancia. Chrisantus has played 22 games and has scored seven times.

HOLLAND
Bartholomew Ogbeche (SC Cambuur): Injured Super Eagles striker Bartholomew Ogbeche was left out of SC Cambuur that played out a 1-1 draw away to Heracles Almelo on Sunday. He has made two appearances since joining the club.

Uche Nwofor (Heerenveen): Nigerian international Uche Nwofor was missing in action as Heerenveen played against Groningen on Sunday. The former 3SC and Rangers star has played three Eredivise games since joining from VVV Venlo.


GERMANY
Chinedu Obasi (Schalke 04): Nigerian international Chinedu Obasi made his third start of the Bundesliga for Schalke in their clash at home to Hannover 96 on Sunday. He is yet to score.

Anthony Ujah (Cologne): Nigerian striker was replaced at half time as his side lost at home to SC Paderborn 07. Ujah has played 20 times in the Bundesliga 2 division and has scored seven goals.


BELGIUM
Michael Uchebo (Cercle Brugge), Gabriel Reuben, Chimezie Mbah (Waasland-Beveren):Super Eagles midfielder Gabriel Reuben made his debut for Waasland-Beveren in their goalless draw against Cercle Brugge who also played Michael Uchebo. His compatriot, Chimezie Mbah was not paraded for the encounter. Uchebo, saw red in stoppage time after picking his second booking of the game in his 23rd appearance, scoring five goals.

Imoh Ezekiel (Standard Liege): Nigerian forward, Imoh Ezekiel played his 26th game of the Jupilier season in Standard Liege 2-0 win against visiting Zulte-Waregem. The former 36 Lions striker has netted nine time this season. Ezekiel who was yellow-carded in the 40th minute and came off for Igor de Camargo.
