FIFA Ranking: Eagles Drop To 36th
Nigeria drop three places down in the latest edition of the FIFA / Coca-Cola World Ranking released Thursday despite beating Ethiopia 2-0 in Calabar to seal their FIFA World Cup place in Brazil next year and playing out a thrilling 2-2 draw with four-time world champions, Italy in a grade A international friendly at the Craven Cottage in London.
The Super Eagles are now placed at 36th in the November edition of the ranking.
Nigeria,are still ranked fourth-best on the African continent,a position they have held since September behind Ivory Coast,Ghana and Algeria with seven time African champions,Egypt following in fifth place.
Stephen Keshi's side, who have qualified for a fifth World Cup have also seen some points chalked off their tally. The Eagles now have 710 from their previous 724 points.
In the overall world rankings, Spain are still number one spot as Germany climb to second with Argentina in third.
Portugal and Brazil returned to the top 10 having climbed to fifth and tenth respectively while disappointing friendly results have contributed to Belgium and England falling from the top ten.
