Efe Ambrose: My Focus Is Not On Brazil 2014

--Eagles defender eager for another Celtic league win
Super Eagles defender,Efe Ambrose says his immediate preoccupation is how to help Celtic wn another league title and not summer's FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

‘My priority is to win the league with Celtic and then I can start to prepare for Brazil,’said Ambrose after he caught a glimpse of the FIFA World Cup trophy, which at the weekend made a visit to Glasgow’s George Square ahead of this summer’s tournament in Brazil.

‘To see the World Cup in the middle of Glasgow is not something I could have imagined,’ laughed Ambrose. Meanwhile Ambrose has called on in-demand Van Dijk to remain with Celtic for one more season.

Dutchman van Dijk has been a stand-out performer since his move from Groningen last summer and his agent Henk-Maarten Chin has claimed ‘absolute top clubs’ in England are ready to move for the centre-half this summer.

Manager Neil Lennon has warned Chin that the four-year contract signed by van Dijk upon  completion of his £2.6million move means Celtic will call the shots on any transfer, but Nigerian internationalist Ambrose believes there are also compelling football reasons for the 22-year-old to continue in Glasgow.

‘Right now, myself and Virgil are more than a partnership,’ said Ambrose. ‘We have moved from friendship to being more like brothers. It is amazing.

‘We take that into games and that has helped us a lot this season. In football, you can never say what will happen tomorrow but I hope he stays. Winning the league will give us another  opportunity to play in the Champions League and that is exciting. If Celtic can keep what we have now, then next season is going to be fantastic.’
