Inter Chief Meets Mikel

--As Eagles star is poised for 53rd UCL appearance for Chelsea
Inter Milan sporting director Piero Ausilio has met with Mikel Obi over a possible move to the San Siro in the summer, French website RMC has reported.

The Nigerian international has fallen down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge this season, starting just nine Premier League matches and finding himself behind the likes of Ramires, Frank Lampard and Nemanja Matic in the pecking order for a central midfield role, while David Luiz has also been selected ahead of him in that position recently. But the Nerazzurri chief is prepared to table an offer for Mikel -- who is poised for his 53rd appearance in the UEFA Champions League with Chelsea as they host Galatasaray tonight -- if an agreement is reached in the coming days with Mikel.

According to reports emanating from Italy, Mikel is being lined up by Inter boss Walter Mazzarri for a £12.3million move to San Siro.

The Inter chief is looking to shore up his midfield this summer as he seeks to radically overhaul his squad - which currently sits 12 points off the Champions League places.
