Ex-FIFA Ref Adejube Backs Keshi

--Advises Eagles coach shouldn't be put under any pressure
Retired FIFA badged referee, Elder Dickson Adejube has voiced his total support to Super Eagles head coach, Stephen Keshi while urging Nigerians to leave the gaffer alone to prosecute the Brazil 2014 FIFA World Cup finals without any pressure.

Adejube, a former NFA executive committee member said it’s only normal and productive for Keshi to be supported to see off his World Cup program stating that giving him a semi final target for the Super Eagles at the World Cup is unfair for the Big Boss.

“Keshi should be allowed to see off his World Cup program. For 19 years, the Super Eagles were without the Nations Cup trophy but Keshi came and made it possible just a year after mounting the Eagles technical saddle”, Adejube recalled.

“He added more to his coaching credentials with the 2014 World Cup ticket and even posted a respectable performance at the FIFA Confederation Cup.

“I don’t know what else anyone expects from him than a better outing at the World Cup with our collective support.

“The idea of foreign assistant coach for him is not necessary and I’m happy NFF has said no to that.

“The last time we had a foreign coach was in 2010 when lars Lagerback was contracted at the expense of the indigenous coach that qualified us for the World Cup.

“Some people made personal money out of the deal otherwise how come a coach was paid as much as 30, 000 USD and in upwards of six months upfront?

“Yet, at the end of the day, we could not go beyond the group stage of the World Cup.

“Anybody who is setting a semi final for Keshi is not being fair at all for him. But with support and motivation the Eagles can do well at the World Cup”, Adejube stressed.
