Super Eagles strikers Emmanuel Emenike and Brown Ideye have joined the growing list of world’s football stars like Neymar, Sergio Aguero, Oscar, David Luiz,Lius Suarez and many others who have been uniting behind Dani Alves, after the Brazilian defender was racially abused during Barcelona’s game against Villarreal on Sunday.
Alves won the hearts of many after his calm reaction to a banana thrown at him while he was attempting to take the corner kick during the game. The 30-year-old right-back picked up the banana and took a bite out of it, before going on with the match as if nothing happened.
Emenike who plays in Turkey for Fenerbahce and Dynamo Kiev of Ukraine’s Ideye both posted photos where they are eating bananas on social media.
‘Banana sellers smiling to the bank courtesy of Racist. # onesport#oneLove#onerace-humanrace!,’Ideye wrote on his twitter handle.
