Super Eagles: Bring Back Our Girls!

Super Eagles stars have joined calls for the release of about 230 abducted Nigerian schoolgirls who were taken from their dormitories in Borno state by armed militia on 14 April.
Support for the movement has been gaining momentum on social media, with thousands tweeting the hashtag #BringBackOurGirls.

"#BringBackOurGirls #Nigerian girls ages 16-18 were kidnapped from their schools in Nigeria 2 weeks ago when an armed terrorist group broke into their school.. Repost pls to get attention and let's hope it touches hearts.. This is too extreme," he wrote on an Instagram post.

Varese winger Nnamdi Oduamadi also urged the Federal Government to do whatever it takes to ensure the girls are released.

"The government must do “whatever it takes, even seeking external support to make sure these girls are released,” Oduamadi adds.

One cap defender Leon Balogun also pleaded that the girls abducted must not be ignored.

"230 Nigerian girls were kidnapped by militants 2 weeks ago. Do NOT ignore" he posted via his twitter handle @LeonBalogun.

John Ogu who plies his trade with Portuguese side Academica prayed for God's intervention in the country.

"God please Help Our Nation And #BringBackOurGirls and Hear the Cry of Our Mothers," he tweeted.
