Enyeama Up For Best Goalie Award!


Super Eagles first choice goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama has been nominated for the best goalkeeper award in the French Ligue 1 after the UNFP announced the nominees yesterday.
The Nigerian shot stopper who has been massive for LOSC Lille's quest for a Champions League football next season has kept 21 clean sheets this season.

The 31-year-old former Enyimba of Aba goalkeeper was nominated alongside Olympique Marseille's Steve Mandanda, Salvatore Sirigu of leaders Paris Saint Germain and Stephane Ruffier of Saint-Ettiene, all three who also made the list last season.

The awards, run by the Professional Union of French Players (UNFP), will be held on May 11, a week before the French Championships ends.

It would be recalled that Enyeama was adjudged as the best player in Ligue 1 for the months of October and November in 2013 and holds the second best run of minutes without conceeding a goal in the history of the FRENCH lIQUE 1.

Meanwhile Lille coach,Rene Girard has given Enyeama a nickname.

Girard disclosed at a press conference on Wednesday while talking about the goalkeeper's impressive season that he has decided to call him the Eddie Murphy of Lille.

The coach admitted that he gave Enyeama the nickname due to his constant good humour.
