Robben is Bayern's most important attacker, says Guardiola

The FCB coach has nothing but praise for the Dutchman in the wake of his goal in the DFB Pokal win over Borussia Dortmund at the weekend

Bayern Munich coach Pep Guardiola has stressed that Arjen Robben has been the Bundesliga giants' most important player this season as they won the domestic double.

There were question marks over whether the Netherlands international would fit Guardiola's style of play when the latter took charge of Bayern last summer and a number of reports even suggested that the winger could be on his way out.

Nevertheless, Robben eventually stayed put and has now convinced Guardiola of his qualities with his fine performances in 2013-14 which saw him rack up.

"Robben has probably been Bayern's most important attacker this year," Guardiola was quoted as saying by TZ

"He is a world-class player and I am very satisfied with his performances.

"I really enjoy working together with him here at Bayern."

Robben has netted 21 goals in 45 appearances in all competitions this season.
