Gallops Report

Imperial Commander: Looking good at home
Imperial Commander: Looking good at home

Imperial Commander could be set to defy his advancing years in the Hennessy if his latest work on the gallops is a guide.

Nigel Twiston-Davies will shortly bring a bunch of horses back for their seasonal debuts, including former Gold Cup hero IMPERIAL COMMANDER.
The 12-year-old experienced a disjointed campaign last season with only two outings and was pulled up in the Grand National on his last start.
However, the veteran has enjoyed a clear run this winter and could tackle the Hennessy off a tumbling mark.
He looked in great form in his latest spin up the steep all-weather at Naunton.
BABY RUN has not been on the track since the Cheltenham Festival two seasons ago but this 13-year-old is back in the game.
He proved near the top of the pile in the hunter-chase division but could run in normal handicaps such as the Becher Chase at Aintree.
SAME DIFFERENCE is at the other end of the age scale.
The seven-year-old appears to have done well for his comeback run and will also have his sights set on the Hennessy at Newbury.
