Hell in a Cell 2013: Shawn Michaels stuns WWE Universe in Miami

Cage rage: Bryan pummels Orton in the show's main event
Cage rage: Bryan pummels Orton in the show's main event
Daniel Bryan had his heart broken by the Heart Break Kid at Hell in a Cell.

The submission specialist looked primed to capture the vacant WWE Championship when he delivered a running knee to opponent Randy Orton during Sunday night's main event in Miami.
Special guest referee Michaels, however, was slumped in the corner of the ring due to an accidental collision with Orton moments earlier and unable to make the three-count - but when Bryan tried to rouse the stricken official, and the man who trained him, carnage ensued.
WWE Chief Operating Officer Triple H demanded the Hell in a Cell structure be opened in order for his best friend Michaels to receive the necessary medical attention, and upon his entrance to the ring, the Game shoved Bryan out of the way.
Bryan - who has been told for months by Triple H that he does not fit the blueprint for a WWE Champion - was irked by the King of Kings' behaviour and promptly felled him with the move that had laid out Orton.
But that decision would backfire on the "Yes!" Lock grappler when Michaels - seemingly angered at seeing his former D-Generation X comrade knocked to the canvas - flattened Bryan with Sweet Chin Music and, albeit reluctantly, counted Orton's pinfall.

High-octane

The Viper, then, left the American Airlines Arena with the WWE Championship, and John Cena exited the building with the World Heavyweight Championship after defeating Alberto Del Rio in his first match since losing to Bryan at SummerSlam.
Goldust and Cody Rhodes, meanwhile, kept hold of the WWE Tag Team Titles by besting The Shield's Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns and the Usos in a high-octane Triple Threat bout, while AJ Lee remains Divas Champion after seeing off a game Brie Bella.
Big E Langston was scheduled to fight Curtis Axel for the Intercontinental Championship on the Hell in a Cell pre-show, but when his adversary was ruled out with a hip injury, the Floridian was promoted to the main card.
The powerhouse showcased his strength against United States Champion Dean Ambrose but failed to capture gold when the Shield star, frustrated by the beating he was receiving, walked away from the contest.
Elsewhere, Summer Rae's in-ring debut ended in victory when she and partner Fandango vanquished Natalya and The Great Khali; Los Matadores silenced the Real Americans by coming out on top in a tag-team tussle; and CM Punk finally got his hands on Paul Heyman.
The Second City Saint was meant to face Heyman and Ryback in a Hell in a Cell handicap match but the ECW architect opted to sit on top of the Devil's Playground while Punk and the Human Wrecking Ball clobbered each other.
But when Punk sent Ryback crashing through a table and pinned him following a Go To Sleep, he ascended to the cell's summit with a kendo stick tucked into his trunks and took out months of frustration on his former best buddy.
The Chicagoan walloped Heyman mercilessly with his weapon, much to the delight of the WWE Universe, and then polished off the New Yorker with a Go To Sleep under the lights.
Job done.
