Keshi Hails NFF Over Upfront Salaries Decision

Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi believes that the move to pay him upfront salaries was a sign of good working relationship between him and the Nigeria Football Federation despite the reported plan of the football house to hire another coach to lead the team to the World Cup in Brazil.

The football house at a meeting on Tuesday in Abuja announced that the soccer tactician will be paid upfront salaries as part of motivation to the coach ahead of the FIFA World Cup billed to hold next summer in Brazil.

“Well, it was a good move and I am sure that they are working towards ensuring that the team perform well in Brazil and that will at least tell you that we are working towards a common goal”, says the former Togo national team handler.

“We are focused and I can tell you that the players are also preparing and looking forward to the World Cup and we also need the support of everyone so that we can do well.

Keshi who also assured that list of the players that will be invited for the World Cup training camp will be sent to the Nigeria Football federation, NFF said he is gradually compiling and will forward the list to the football house soon.

Nigeria will play Iran, Bosnia Herzegovina and Argentina during the first round of the World Cup in Brazil.
