Liverpool agree multi-year Subway partnership

English soccer club Liverpool have agreed a partnership with Subway.

English soccer club Liverpool have agreed a partnership with Subway.
The sandwich chain has signed a multi-year agreement with the Premier League leaders, its first sponsorship deal in the top tier of English club soccer. Subway will be entitled to a range of branding and promotional rights and will be the club’s official training food partner.
Liverpool will assist Subway in its community initiatives to support healthy eating and active lifestyles.
Billy Hogan, the Liverpool chief commercial officer, said: “We’re delighted to welcome the Subway brand as an official partner to Liverpool FC. We’ve worked closely with the Subway team over the last few weeks and have seen first-hand value they place on giving back to local communities.”
“We are excited to be joining forces with a global organisation who are just as passionate about making a positive difference to their communities as we are.”
Manaaz Akhtar, the regional marketing director for Subway in Europe, said the deal represented “the pefect opportunity” for the brand to demonstrate its commitment “to supporting everyone to be more active in their everyday lives”.
Liverpool are five points clear at the top of the Premier League table. They need two wins and a draw from their last four games to become English champions for the first time in 24 years, and the 19th time in all.
