Sharks FC defeated El-Kanemi
Warriors 2-0 on Sunday to atop the log in a week nine game in the Globacom Premier League.
A 2-0 victory against El-Kanemi at home, on Sunday, saw Sharks topple former leaders Akwa United who were forced to a 2-2 draw at home by Sunshine Stars and are now on 17 points from nine games.
At the Emmanuel Atonga Stadium, Lobi Stars defeated Kano Pillars 2-0 to move up to the third spot. They are now tied on the same points with Akwa United.
Other games decided on Sunday include: Crown 1-1 Nembe, Gombe United 1-0 Kaduna United, Nassarawa United 2-1 Dolphins, Abia Warriors 0-1 Warri Wolves and Taraba FC 2-0 Rangers.
Meanwhile, in the oriental derby that was decided on Saturday, Heartland secured their first win of the campaign after a slim 1-0 win against visiting Enyimba.
