Yobo Targets Chelsea Return

Super Eagles captain, Joseph Yobo is targetting a May 4 return to action at Stamford Bridge after a calf strain relapse ruled him out of last weekend`s game against Liverpool at Carrow  Road.

The on loan defender was advised to rest for one week after a scan showed a relapse.
'Joseph will be out for another week at least. He has had a scan on his calf and it will be a week, ”Norwich caretaker coach Neil Adams had confirmed.

Adams is however desperate for the return of the former Everton man  whose arrival in Norfolk has been a blessing. Yobo has made a huge impact since his arrival from Turkey at the end of January.  He has won three man of the match awards including the one he won in the goalless draw against Manchester City in February.

The Nigerian was also at the heart of another impressive Norwich defensive display a week later against Tottenham and ensured the then free-scoring Emmanuel Adebayor  did not know his way to the Canaries goal. Yobo's impact has not gone unnoticed and several Norwich stars have attributed his inclusion in the squad as one of the reasons the club has done well defensively between February and early April.

Meanwhile Chiedozie Nwabueze, a close associate of the player has allayed fears over the Norwich City centre back's fitness.  "I was shocked when I read in the media that he was out for the rest of the season. I spoke with Joe and he was equally surprised over the news. He was ninety percent fit for last weekend's game and was left out only as a precautionary measure," Nwabueze  said.
