Luke Wright starred with the bat as the Melbourne Stars maintained their 100 per cent record this season with a resounding eight-wicket victory over the Adelaide Strikers.
The Strikers won the toss and batted first at the MCG in Melbourne, however, the visitors were unable to post an imposing target, slumping to 90-9 from their 20 overs.
Opener Michael Klinger was the only top-order batsman to make any impression on the scoreboard, scoring a credible 42 from 49 deliveries.
Alex Hales (5), Tim Ludeman (6), Philip Hughes (0), Nathan Reardon (1), Shakib Al Hasan (2) and Michael Neser (4) all swiftly came and went although the later was unlucky to be run out after his bat bounced up in the crease.
Kane Richardson (21) ensured the Strikers were not completely blown away, hitting two fours and a six from his 24 balls.
Pick of the bowlers
James Faulkner and Lasith Malinga were the pick of the Stars bowlers with figures of 3-9 and 2-8 from their four overs respectively.
The Stars wasted little time getting stuck into the Strikers' meagre total with Englishman Wright in fine form.
The Sussex slugger fell just short of his half-century, although he still managed 49 runs from just 20 balls. His strike rate of 245 was the second-fastest score more than 40 runs in Big Bash history.
Cameron White was Neser's second wicket in successive deliveries, but Glenn Maxwell (25) ensured there would be no sting in the tail.
Maxwell bagged 25 runs from 10 deliveries including the match-winning six to clinch the victory, which came from just 7.3 overs.
