SIASIA: EAGLES MUST DO BETTER

Former Flying Eagles coach Samson Siasia says the Home Eagles need to work harder to make sure they beat South Africa in their last preliminary game of the 2014 CAF African Nations Championship holding in the Mandela country.

The Nigerians who managed to beat Mozambique 3-2 in Wednesday’s game are therefore banking on victory against South Africa on Sunday to scale through to the next round of the tournament.

“Well, we are happy that we won the match but I still strongly believe that the team still has a lot more to do if they must qualify from the group. Personally, I expected a better performance from the team but as it is now, they need to step up their game and go out for nothing short of victory against South Africa”, says the soccer tactician.

“South Africa will definitely be tough because they are the host and they will get all the support they need from their fans in the match but if our players can go out to raise their game and make sure they did not make any silly mistake, they will definitely win.

“It is a crucial match for us and we must not joke with it. The goalkeeper should be made to realize his mistakes and also make necessary correction before the final group game on Sunday.
While Nigeria play South Africa, Mali and Mozambique will slug it out same day to determine the two teams that will qualify from the group.

Nigeria had earlier on lost to Mali while South Africa beat Mozambique in their first games.
